Your data should stay on cue.
Last updated: September 15, 2026.
ShowTape is a discovery platform. This notice explains the information the service currently stores and why.
Information ShowTape may store
- Email address when you use passwordless sign-in or subscribe to product updates.
- Saved titles, viewing-progress markers, and ZIP preference when you choose to sync your account.
- Local browser storage used to keep My List, progress, ZIP preference, and basic app state on your device.
How the information is used
ShowTape uses this information to provide account sync, My List, viewing progress, local discovery, and requested product updates. ShowTape does not need your streaming-service passwords and does not host third-party movies or television programs.
Services involved
ShowTape currently uses Supabase for authentication and database storage, Vercel for web hosting and deployment, and TVmaze for certain television schedule and metadata features. When you choose an external provider, trailer, news, weather, traffic, or event link, that destination may process data under its own privacy policy.
Location
The current local experience uses a ZIP code you enter or save. ShowTape does not require precise GPS location for its core experience.
Choices
You can use many ShowTape discovery features without signing in. Signing out keeps local device data unless you clear it in your browser. Account-synced records are protected with database row-level security so authenticated users can access their own ShowTape profile data.
Changes
As ShowTape grows, this notice may be updated to reflect new features, integrations, or legal requirements.
